EPITECH INNOVATIVE PROJECTS

MORE THAN A TITLE, AN APPROACH

An Epitech Innovative Project is designed, like all Epitech pedagogy based on the project method, in the same way as a real entrepreneurial project, in all its components: business, techno, design & communication. An EIP is destined to become a viable start-up.

Technical skills, team spirit and international openness, the ability to respond to the accelerating pace of innovation, the combination of these three forms of skills is essential. The combination of these three facets into a single profile establishes the winning profile, guaranteeing success upon leaving school. Whether they become employees or entrepreneurs, Epitech graduates are much more than ingenious performers.

As Clarisse Reille, Director General of the DEFI and President of the Association Grandes Ecoles au Féminin confirms: « This pedagogy is totally adapted to the approach we must adopt today: in an internationalized world that is changing very quickly, companies must have employees and partners who understand reality in all its complexity. And this method of working, by projects, with real economic actors or on real subjects, seems to me to be particularly powerful. Not to mention something to which I am extremely sensitive: learning to work in a team. »

The Epitech Innovative Project (E.I.P.) is the main step in the Epitechean curriculum that takes him from being a student to being a full-fledged professional. In Grades 4 and 5, the student must complete a project in its entirety and do everything possible to make it usable in the professional world.

The EIP has a dual purpose:

  • To allow students to gain integral management experience as part of a practical project.
  • To help them design their professional, high-level business card.

COLLABORATION “LIKE THE PROS”

The student is placed in a professional situation. He chooses a subject that must be an original idea that brings new ideas or take up an existing project, and must move forward in collaboration. An EPI group consists of a minimum of five 4th year students. On average, the groups are made up of seven to eight members, which allows for a significant development force and therefore ambitious subjects.

This minimum has 2 objectives:

  • the first is pedagogical: a relatively large group must manage itself, so students will practice group management
  • the second is practical: it takes place over 18 months, a relatively large group makes it easier to resolve the various problems that may arise, such as the departure of one member or the prolonged absence of another

For those who already wish to build their professional network, the project can be done in collaboration with a company, a laboratory or even another school.

It is therefore, faced with the problems related to this intermediate situation, between school and the business world, that the student cooperates with the members of his group and adapts, to enrich his knowledge and skills independently.

Follow-up is organized so that students can propose their ideas or listen and comment on those proposed to them. Every year at the beginning of the school year, an EIP forum is organised.
